“…a job is not your passion — it is how you express your passion.”
Can we all be exceptional in our various fields and professions? Do you doubt that it cannot be achieved? Well, Deji Jemiyo, in “The 7 Dimensions of a Star Professional” clears that doubt for readers. Using the 7 dimensions, everyone in their respective fields can be star professionals with a fulfilling career. The main question we should ask ourselves is, how does one become a 7-star professional? An individual becomes a 7-star professional once they combine all the 7 dimensions. The dimensions are Meaning, Mindset, Cognitive, Domain, Emotional, Political, and Spiritual.
As one dives further into the book, each dimension is carefully explained in detail, followed by real-life lessons and scenarios. For clarity and better understanding, a pictorial representation of each dimension was drawn up. The diagram is likened to a house with a foundation, supporting pillars, and a roof. Every single dimension has its purpose for which, if any is removed, it will cause an imbalance. These dimensions are interdependent; individuals cannot achieve the 7-star professional status if they lack one dimension. The dimensions are explained in chapters, allowing readers to quickly grasp each dimension before moving onto the next.
The 7 Dimensions of a 7star Professional is the career division in the Result Series. It enables one to realise their full potential, amongst other things, when building or sustaining a career.
I found the book remarkably interesting. There were stories, scenarios, and quotes from different people, which kept me locked in the pages until the very end. My favourite quote is, “Just because you do not take an interest in politics doesn’t mean politics won’t take an interest in you” by Pericles. Each chapter began with a quote and ended with a summary. This allowed for anticipation into a new chapter until the end of the book. The insights gained from the book can also be applied to virtually all aspects of life.
Although the message passed is easy to understand, a few things cannot go unnoticed. There was no reference list at the end of the book. This can be a deterrent to those who want to research more about a particular subject. Nevertheless, it was an exciting and insightful short read.
To conclude, I award The 7 Dimensions of a Star Professional 4.5 out of 5 stars. There was no form of profanity or adult language used. I recommend this excellent read to everyone in any field or profession.
To close, I leave you with a quote,
